At a joint special meeting of the Vigilant Hose Company and the Emmitsburg Ambulance Company on Sunday evening May 21, 2017, both memberships unanimously approved for their respective Board of Directors to begin merger discussions to bring both companies back under one organizational structure in order to provide the most professional and reliable Fire, Rescue, and EMS service to Emmitsburg and its surrounding communities.
Leadership from both organizations have been in discussions recently to begin this process and last night both groups solidified their resolve to move forward to achieve positive outcomes for all those involved.

Both organizations are very optimistic about the outcome of these discussions and are both committed to doing what is best for Emmitsburg and its citizens.
